With Gratitude

Historic Altamont extends heartfelt thanks to the many individuals and organizations who have generously contributed their time, talent, and resources to bring our shared vision to life. Our work is made possible by a community that values history, nature, and collaboration.

Funding Support

We’re honored to have received funding through the County of Albany’s Arts, Culture, and Tourism Promotion Grant, made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), to support local recovery and community enrichment. Additional support has come from the Michele L. Vennard Hospitality Grant Program of the Albany County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Fund, a fund administered by the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region. We also sincerely thank Altamont Community Tradition (ACT) for their continued generosity and belief in our work.

Site & Design Contributions

Special thanks to Jeff Thomas for generously donating the kiosk site and to the Village of Altamont for contributing historic bluestone pavers. We are deeply grateful to Thom Breitenbach for his creative work on the kiosk, as well as for designing our logo and letterhead graphics. Our sincere thanks also go to Sophia Delvecchio for her valuable assistance in developing our website.  Thanks to Michelle Johnston of Thacher State Park, our website showcases the park’s stunning views. We appreciate her generosity in sharing these images.

Interpretive Panels

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Carrie Stickan and Mark King of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy for their vision, expertise, and guidance in developing the interpretive panels for our kiosk. We are also deeply grateful to Zac Cole and Jeremy Apgar of the New York–New Jersey Trail Conference for their invaluable input.

Community Partners

We also thank all of our community collaborators for their partnership and continued support.

Together, your support strengthens our mission and reflects the heart of Altamont—where history and nature meet.
